Creating a list of clinical tests

Each test must be assigned to an test group, which must have been previously created within the Test Groups tab.

To create, edit or delete clinical tests, you need the 'Maintain clinical tests' permission

Creating a clinical test

Select Parameters > Normal Ranges and CTC. The Normal Ranges and CTC window is displayed.
Select the Tests tab.
Click Create. Fields that are filled with yellow are mandatory and need to have valid data entered before the screen can be saved.
Enter a unique code and a description for the clinical test. This must begin with a letter and may have up to 15 alphanumeric characters. Spaces are not allowed but you can use the underscore character instead.
Select the unit of measurement to be used for this test. To add or change available units, click the button to the right of this field for a shortcut to Units and Conversion Factors within in the Parameters menu.
Select the test group in which you want this test to be included.
Click Save to save the new test, or Cancel to abort the creation.

Editing a clinical test

Select Parameters > Normal Ranges and CTC. The Normal Ranges and CTC window is displayed.
Select the Tests tab.
Select the test that you wish to edit and click Edit.
Make your changes and click Save to save them, or Cancel to abort.

Deleting a clinical test

Select Parameters > Normal Ranges and CTC. The Normal Ranges and CTC window is displayed.
Select the Tests tab.
Select the test that you wish to delete and click Delete.
Click Yes to confirm the deletion, or No to abort.

Exporting clinical tests

When you export a study, only those clinical test groups and clinical tests which are referenced from lab questions in the study are exported with the study definition. You can export a set of clinical test groups and clinical tests by adding them to a laboratory and exporting the laboratory.
